The East Cape, the most southern point of the Baja California Peninsula, is home to various places which include cabo (cape) in their name. Nevertheless, when people speak about "Cabo", many people just refer to Cabo San Lucas, the largest city and most touristic place at the East Cape. Cabo Los Frailes was the first cabo we stopped when circumnavigated the East Cape. Brian and Pat went surfing for some time as large Pacific swell provided good conditions for surfing. As I had no surfing experience so far I stayed on deck and took care of the boat.
In order to use the time sensibly, I let my drone circle over the surfers for a while to capture some sequences on video. Unfortunately, they were not able to catch any good surf within these minutes, so I finally returned it back to the boat. Catching the drone turned out to be a pretty difficult task as the catamaran moved up and down and back and forth a lot thanks to the strong swell. I was really hyperventilating navigating the drone with one hand on the control and reaching for it with my other hand but finally I got to grab it before the battery was completely empty or any accident like hitting the water or some reefing lines of the boat.
