17. Isla Coronados

Isla Coronados lies six miles north-east of Loreto and a popular and frequently visited excursion destination for many Mexicans on weekends and public holidays as it can easily be reached by taking a panga from Loreto. The island is of volcanic origin, there is a trail which leads all the way up the cone of the extinct volcano. Directly at the beach there are also some palapas which provide shade and protection against the strong sun. Furthermore a small islet lies in between Isla Coronados and the mainland.

Hint: If you want to fly a drone near the beach, be careful as there are plenty of seagulls which try to get them down.

Isla Coronados is surrounded by astonishing coral reefs which invite you to spend the whole day with the head under water.
