1. Mazatlán
Mazatlán was the starting point of my first sailing tour, after searching for a few days in the Marina for people crossing the Sea of Cortez I finally got in contact with Brian who invited me directly to come aboard his 41 feet catamaran Southernease to explain his travel plans to me and show me around his boat. Immediately it was clear to me that I would get involved in this adventure. The next two days I spent preparing myself for the sea voyage and got Fernando, another Couchsurfer and traveler, aboard as a third crew member. The day before our departure I bought fruits and vegetables for several days and we checked the wind report for the coming days together.
